Steffan Browning NZ Green MP on the GCSB and Related Legislation Amendment Bill

21 Aug 2013 - Speech - Steffan Browning Green MP

Stood up in the NZ Paliament and said:

I implore one of the 61 MPs who has previously supported this legislation to change at this vote and allow a full inquiry first. The Government

has failed to provide a real justification for this fundamental attack on our democratic rights and freedoms, and the legislation facilitates

the legal establishment of a surveillance State in New Zealand.

I rise to speak to the third readings of the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) legislation. These bills collectively are an arrogant,

unjustified, and fundamental extension of the ability of the State to intrude into the private lives of ordinary New Zealanders.

                                                         *******

This above interview also mentions: NZ's current military Alliances and who we are involving ourselves with, when we truly need

to be a Global Advocate for Peace and Conflict Resolution.

June 2013. The New Zealand Army and Royal New Zealand Air Force were joined by the Canadian, US and British armies and the

US Marine Corps to enact a common conflict scenario of insurgents trying to overthrow a government. Four nations' 'military

invasion' goes well said the local press. Situated in Tararua, Wairarapa, North of Wellington. Exercise Alam Halfa (strange

name) 2013, was the precursor to Exercise Southern Katipo, to be held in the South Island of this year. Some local residents were very concerned

at seeing armed soldiers standing on town rooftops and even the local library.

Again in June of this year, Southern California operation Dawn Blitz at Camp Pendleton took place.
The number

of US marines stationed at Pendleton is 25 times that of the whole New Zealand Army. This exercise was also joined by Canadian and Japanese

soldiers.http://www.1stmardiv.marines.mil/News/NewsArticleDisplay/tabid/8585/Article/542028/marines-give-new-zealand-army-house-to-house-combat-training.aspx

Marines give New Zealand Army house-to-house combat training.

New Zealand Army soldiers have left a good impression on Marines with their
discipline and marksmanship skills and have proven themselves a valuable
force

to train alongside. Marines conducted a live-fire shoot house at range 216 during Exercise Dawn Blitz 2013 here, June 13.

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- New Zealand Army soldiers have left a good impression on Marines with their discipline and marksmanship skills

and have proven themselves a valuable force to train alongside.

Marines conducted a live-fire shoot house at range 216 during Exercise Dawn Blitz 2013 here, June 13.

The range was designed to give the New Zealand soldiers a chance to practice their close quarter combat skills to prepare them for future operations.

“This really helps both of us,” said Sgt. John Forrest a section leader serving with 1st Battalion, 1st Marines. “Not only are they able to refine their

skills and learn tactics from us, but we are also able to take away valuable information from them.”

The Marines were given a chance to see how New Zealand soldiers operate in close-quarter combat situations, giving them tips on how to improve their skills

and also taking away ideas they could use in their own individual fire teams and squads.

The New Zealand soldiers left an impression on the Marines with their skills on the range.

“They’re fantastically organized and extremely disciplined and are probably one of the most disciplined foreign units I have been able to work with,” said

1st Lt. Andrew Repco, the commanding officer of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment. “Their marksmanship is excellent and how they

conduct themselves both in garrison and in the field is noteworthy.”

From China's press we read that: Approximately 28,000 personnel took part in the biennial Australian and U.S. training exercise,

which tested combined and joint fighting capabilities in "a complex high-end environment" conducted in Australia and Hawaii from July 15

to Aug. 5.

'The New Zealand Defense Force (NZDF) sent observers to Exercise Talisman Saber 2013, one of Australia's

major biennial exercises, to further develop our amphibious capability,'

In Sept 2013 Top military chiefs met in Auckland from more than 30 countries to discuss security issues as they gathered for the

Pacific Armies' Chief's conference.

So this is the world that we have entered. One that is militarising across every major country as alliances are built and where fear engenders their establishment.

We never hear how we can enable civil society to engage in conflict resolution and find novel ways to reconcile opposing points of view. Thus, we waste

gigantic amounts of resources and money, that fills the coffers of the armament manufacturers and shareholders, when we could have thousands of skilled

mediators travelling and living in countries of conflict, learning and teaching how to restore friendly relations and how much we have in common than

have differences. To speak openly of peace is just not on the agenda of the political establishment.

Is this the world we want to bring our children and grand children up in?

This is 'enough' of EARTHFILES for this week:

PS It's all rigged - further up the system to the top of the pyramid, puppet masters are pulling the strings.
