Channel 7 is like the BBC of 40 years ago, it informs us, challenges us, and breaks through the barriers that increase knowledge and keeps us informed.

Channel 7 is for those who are more curious than those who wish to be ghouls indulging in the latest murder, court cases, mayhem and horror show -

that are becoming ubiquitous on commercial NZ TV.

Sadly, the poor and those socio economically disadvantaged do not have the savvy to get out and support those who are wanting to keep this advertisement-free

general knowledge TV channel running.

For a large percentage of them also support TV 2 another purveyor of mind control that only serves to dumb us down even further.

This loss, is a sad indictment on the wealthy but equally so on the poor of pocket and spirit, as TV 7 could nourish us all and inspire us to question

existence and to find new ways to learn and grow and empower us to achieve and be successful.

For those who are financial, they buy into Sky television where they can choose what they watch at a whim, whereas when 7 goes at the end of this month,

the disadvantaged poor in consciousness will only have infomercials, shopping channels, canned sport and the ongoing trivia that only the mainstream

TV stations can endlessly supply and program us with.

In a world that is supposed to be evolving, the TV and media in general are involving themselves in distractedness based on bread and circuses, plus,

celebrity, glamour, spectacle and titillation, and they are leaving a vacuum for a growing audience to be seduced by an illusionary dream-spell of

disempowerment.

More than a great pity, this is a travesty.

Goodbye Channel 7, and if our Members of Parliament could have a conscience vote on retaining it, I am sure they would vote to retain it, but party

politics and in this particular instance, the National Party with a slim majority, is making sure that their parties policy has to have precedence,

because as has been stated before, the majority of National Party supporters can easily afford satellite or streaming TV, so who cares about what happens

to those that are unable to afford to pay?

Talk about the brotherhood of man.

So Sisters …?

Post Script, here we are today mid May 2016 and television has fallen to greater lows as junk programs, shopping channels and indiscriminate rubbish desensitises

the poor and unknowing to take on more addictions to cheap rubbish whilst disconnecting them from nature, themselves and their families. Goebbels

would only marvel at the ease of how it is happening here.

Goebbels

Goebbels

We still have a long way to go.

Subject: Keep TV 7 for New Zealanders to learn and grow!

Kia Ora Craig,

I challenge you to sit down and watch 24 hours of TV 1 or TV 3 and then view TV 7.

I guarantee you will come away from TV 7 far more inspired as well as both mentally and emotionally full.

Why is the Government 'deliberately dumbing down' the NZ public, by doing away with this icon that educates?

When you lie in bed at night, what would you like to be able to do for the children of today and tomorrow, and young adults too, especially as we are

leaving them such a fraught future?

I urge you to act as a civic responsible elder who has the interests of the community at heart and retain TV 7 and even look to adding another complimentary

educational station in the years to come.

The costs are minimal, and the Government knows this.

The American native Indians looked 7 generations ahead, to see that the environment would sustain them.

Please, lets keep TV 7 looking forward 7 years ahead too.

Naku Noa,
