{"id":3015,"date":"2018-05-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-05-15T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ourplanet.org\/roger-fowler-inspiring-us-to-dream-the-impossible-dream-for-palestine-gaza\/"},"modified":"2023-05-11T19:15:29","modified_gmt":"2023-05-11T06:15:29","slug":"roger-fowler-inspiring-us-to-dream-the-impossible-dream-for-palestine-gaza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ourplanet.org\/greenplanetfm\/roger-fowler-inspiring-us-to-dream-the-impossible-dream-for-palestine-gaza\/","title":{"rendered":"Roger Fowler: Inspiring us to Dream the Impossible Dream for Palestine \/ Gaza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This interview with Roger Fowler was recorded on Monday May 8th 2018. <\/p>\n<p>Many more have now died in protests not only in Gaza but in Jerusalem and the West Bank.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of the interview 54 Palestinians had been killed and well over 1,000 injured by Israeli forces since the \u2018Great March of Return\u2019 protests began<br \/>\n    on March 30 2018. <\/p>\n<p>The rallies are part of a six-week protest to mark what Palestinians refer to as the Nakba\" or \"catastrophe\" - a reference to Israel's establishment in<br \/>\n    1948 and when 750,000 Arabs were forcibly removed from Palestine.<\/p>\n<p>On May 15, which is Nakba Day, and the Israeli Declaration of Independence, there were also protests going on about the US opening its embassy in Jerusalem.<br \/>\n    A further 60 people dies and the numbers of injured reached 2,700.<\/p>\n<p>Roger will be covering a number of topics that include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Israel\u2019s continuing lethal attacks of unarmed citizens gathering in Gaza<\/li>\n<li>Political prisoners, detention of children<\/li>\n<li>House demolitions on the West Bank<\/li>\n<li>Author Dr Ramzy Baroud\u2019s speaking tour of NZ talking about his new book \u201cThe Last Earth: A Palestinian Story\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The upcoming 2018 international Freedom Flotilla to Gaza which will again include a prominent human rights advocate from NZ<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Roger\u2019s bio:<\/h3>\n<p>Roger Fowler is a veteran activist &amp;
