Throughout history great philosophers and visionaries have pointed to consciousness being the key to understanding what it is to become fully human.

The core work of Shanti Mission is to give everyday people tools that allow access to their full humanity and thus their divinity - the inner landscape and the wisdom of the heart.

Parvati discusses why despite knowing that changing consciousness is the key to living in a sustainable world, it’s not the same thing as simply changing your mind.

She cites the work of noted psychiatrist and researcher David Hawkins. Hawkins book ""Power VS. Force - The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior"" determined that consciousness exists on a evolutionary scale from shame to enlightenment. His work suggests it typically takes a life-time to shift just one level of consciousness.

This is where is a personal development program that introduces a person to the multi dimensionality of their own being can radically accelerate growth. We can become empowered to see our problems and challenges not as obstacles but instead as doorways into higher consciousness in that they build our character.

Parvati points out that it’s the old story over and over again of whether we’re motivated by the carrot or the stick. We must have something to evolve “against” or we stay the same. Until we reach a certain stage of conscious development, we need a certain amount of friction to push up against as being the way we evolve.

Gradually as our human instincts are refined, we’re able to work with others because we’ve come to understand and value what can be achieved ten times more effectively through unification.

The life skills taught at Shanti Mission take us deeper into our being- we change our vibration which ultimately changes the world around us. This is how an individual is able to feed a new mindset and create a new paradigm that envelopes our planet. Gandhi said “be the change” though most of us aren’t specifically taught how. Shanti Mission’s programs are a user friendly, multi-faith, practical way to learn this.

As an example, of what can happen when we still our being- it’s like holding a glass of water that is cloudy. After a certain amount of time the cloudiness settles to the bottom, and the glass becomes clear so that light can enter it and pass through.  This metaphor illustrates how when we as a conscious being become more clear - it contributes to clarity for all beings. We’re all in the same ocean- the same glass of water together.

Eventually we wake up to the truth of ourselves that we are part of a greater whole. By aligning with our awakened self we can release patterns and blockages. Eventually this gives us the opportunity to grow into the promise that each of us holds.
