A shaman and a seer, she is described in Maoridom by various highly respected kaumatua and traditional guardians or keepers of the old wisdom as being a matatuhi - one who can read what is written in the wind and a matakite, one who sees with the healing or the third eye.

She has been specially chosen to carry the spirit connections and healing mantle for various ancient shamanic lineages. She was subsequently formally trained by indigenous elders from various countries including New Zealand in advanced shamanic healing practices.
